Three Natural Ways to Boost Fertility

 

If you are like many women who have decided that they are ready to start a family, you want to be pregnant and you want to be pregnant now. While it is not possible to dictate when exactly you will become pregnant, there are three simple things that you can do to boost your fertility.

The first is to time sexual intercourse as closely as possible to ovulation. This requires you to get to know your body and to become very familiar with your menstrual cycle. You can time ovulation using the calendar method as, for most women, ovulation occurs about fourteen days before your menstrual cycle is due. You may also purchase an ovulation kit for this purpose. Ovulation kits are available for purchase at most drug stores and in retail outlets such as Walmart and Target.

The second thing you can do is to maintain a healthy body weight. Studies have shown that being overweight or underweight can delay the time it takes a woman to conceive. For most women, maintaining a healthy body weight can be achieved by eating a healthy, well-balanced diet and by exercising daily. If you have tried this method and have not been successful in either losing or gaining weight, you may want to talk to your doctor about how you can achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

The third thing you can do to help boost your fertility is to make sure that you are drinking alcohol and caffeinated drinks only in moderation. Some research suggests that drinking too much alcohol or ingesting too much caffeine can impair your fertility. If you are trying to get pregnant, you will definitely want to refrain from smoking as smoking has been proven to impair fertility in both men and women.
